CHN Energy installs 1st turbine at 206.25 MW Shandong wind farm

China Energy (Shandong) New Energy Co., Ltd. completed the first wind turbine hoisting at its 206.25 MW Dongming wind power project on August 6, marking a key milestone for the tallest wind project under construction by China Energy Investment Corp (CHN Energy).

Located in eastern Dongming County on the southwest Shandong plain, the project will install 28 onshore wind turbines with a unit capacity of 7.5 MW, totaling 206.25 MW. It is among the first CHN Energy projects to adopt 180-meter tower onshore high-capacity turbines, offering advantages in unit capacity, hub height and power generation efficiency.

Once fully operational, the project is expected to generate approximately 480 GWh of electricity annually, saving about 140,000 tonnes of standard coal and reducing carbon dioxide emissions by roughly 360,000 tonnes per year, while also cutting pollutant emissions including dust and sulfides.
