At least 34 miners were killed in an explosion at a coal mine in Pakistan's southern Balochistan province on July 30, 2026. The Balochistan Provincial Disaster Management Authority said the explosion occurred at a mine near the provincial capital, Quetta. The explosion is suspected to have been caused by an accumulation of methane gas.
