Ganqimaodu border crossing, China's largest inland road port for coal imports from Mongolia, handled 41.01 million tonnes of cargo as of December 18, 2025, including 38.86 million tonnes of imported coal, according to the official Wechat account.

The total cargo volume this year has already surpassed the total for 2024, setting a new annual record since the port's opening. Cargo exports amounted to 560,300 tonnes during the same period.

Customs clearances of Mongolian coal trucks via Ganqimaodu border port saw a significant increase in the second half of this year, reversing the weaker performance in the first half. The number of trucks outpaced the four-digit threshold since August and jumped further in the past two months.

Ganqimaodu port let in 1,446 trucks of Mongolian coal on average for the first 18 days of December, surging 95% compared to a low in June, Sxcoal data showed.

Local authorities have long focused on improving clearance efficiency, upgrading infrastructure, and innovating transportation methods, as reported by the official WeChat account.
