China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology held a national symposium on green and low-carbon industrial development on September 23 in Yichang, Hubei province, urging accelerated action to peak carbon emissions in the industrial sector. The meeting called for boosting the sector's capacity for green value creation, supply of green equipment and products, green and low-carbon technological innovation, and the integration of intelligent and green development, according to a statement. It also stressed improving systems for industrial resource recycling and green manufacturing and services to support the country's broader green economic transition.
