China's National Energy Administration issued 306 million green certificates in July 2026, down 17.93% month on month, covering 1.22 million renewable energy projects, of which 179 million certificates were tradable, accounting for 58.56%.
The certificates issued in July corresponded to renewable electricity generated in June 2026, totaling 274 million certificates, or 89.61% of the total. Issuance across all renewable energy sources declined during the month.
In terms of trading, 54.68 million green certificates were traded nationwide in July 2026, down 33.91% from the previous month. Among these, certificates from green power trading totaled 25.78 million, down 39.88% month on month. Wind and solar power certificates ranked as the top two traded categories, remaining the core market products.
Standalone green certificate trading reached 28.9 million certificates in July, down 27.47% month on month. Certificates for electricity generated in 2024 saw 1.84 million traded at an average price of 0.83 yuan each, while those for 2025 output saw 6.54 million traded at 3.26 yuan each. Certificates for 2026 generation saw 20.52 million traded at an average price of 6.10 yuan each.
