A train loaded with 3,200 tonnes of Indonesian coking coal departed from Tangshan port's Jingtang port area for Xiaonan in Shanxi province, according to a disclosure on the Hebei provincial government website on August 25.

This marks the official launch of the "Jingtang Port-Xiaonan" Indonesia coking coal train service to Shanxi, adding a new cargo type to the open-top container shipping business at Jingtang Port area of Tangshan Port.

Recent supply gaps at Shanxi-based enterprises prompted Tangshan Port Group Co.,Ltd. to proactively engage with inland customers and secure cooperation agreements, establishing a new open-top container transport route for imported coking coal from the port and broadening the port's rail cargo sources.
