China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology has established a green low-carbon standardization technical committee to support the country's push for greener industrial development, according to a statement on the ministry's website. The committee recently approved its charter, secretariat work rules and procedures for standard development and revision, and will coordinate standardization bodies across industries to strengthen work on energy conservation, carbon reduction, water saving, clean production, comprehensive resource utilization and green manufacturing standards.
