China's total installed power generation capacity reached 4.08 TW by the end of July, up 11.0% year on year, maintaining double-digit growth, according to the latest data released by the National Energy Administration (NEA) on August 25.

Hydropower capacity stood at 460 GW, up 3.4% year on year, while thermal power capacity reached 1.58 TW, up 6.3%. Nuclear capacity totaled 70 GW, up 8.5%, solar capacity hit 1.29 TW, up 16.1%, and wind capacity reached 690 GW, up 19.5%.

Newly installed capacity in January-July totaled 193.97 GW, down 138.51 GW from the same period last year. Hydropower added 6.84 GW, thermal power added 50.30 GW, nuclear added 3.62 GW, wind added 47.07 GW, and solar added 86.15 GW.

Average utilization of power generation equipment across China stood at 1,671 hours in the first seven months, down 135 hours from a year earlier.
