Iranian Oil Minister Mohsen Paknejad announced on March 23 that a new gas field has been discovered in the southern province of Fars, with reserves exceeding 7.5 trillion cubic feet (about 212.4 billion cubic meters) and recoverable reserves of approximately 5.7 trillion cubic feet (about 161.4 billion cubic meters), according to Iranian media reports.
