Green power trading volume in China's Fujian province reached 1.90 TWh in January-July, up 5.69% year on year, according to Fujian Power Exchange Center Co., Ltd. on August 19.

Cross-provincial green power transactions totaled 1.00 TWh during the period, roughly ten times the volume recorded in the same period of 2025.

Since the start of the year, Fujian has leveraged the national unified electricity market to expand green power procurement channels, sourcing electricity from 15 provinces and autonomous regions including Xizang, Ningxia, Xinjiang, Jilin and Guangxi.

To address varying energy needs across enterprises, the Fujian Power Exchange Center has established a cross-provincial green power trading service mechanism covering multiple timeframes and product categories. The mechanism supports the province's industrial green transition while securing export market access for outward-oriented enterprises.

The center has organized multi-year bilateral negotiation transactions for cross-provincial green power, enabling companies with large electricity demand and long planning cycles to lock in long-term green power volumes and prices, hedging against market volatility. It has also encouraged provincial market participants to join monthly and intra-month green power trading to enhance flexibility and response speed, meeting medium- and short-term incremental green power demand.

In July, State Grid Fujian Electric Power Co., Ltd. deployed its independently developed time-sharing and region-specific grid carbon emission monitoring technology at industrial parks and zero-carbon parks in Nanping, Putian and Xiamen. The system provides dynamic updates of electricity carbon factors at 15-minute intervals, offering real-time data support for green power consumption.

The technology uses an algorithmic model to track carbon emissions across the full chain of power generation, transmission and consumption, shifting electricity carbon accounting from rough estimates to precise measurement and providing enterprises with dynamically updated carbon statements.
