The Haoji railway has delivered 75.38 million tonnes of high-quality coal to Jiangxi province since it began operations, according to Jiangxi Daily.

Jiangxi relies heavily on external coal supplies due to limited domestic resources and a persistent supply-demand gap.

Before the Haoji railway opened, coal transport to Jiangxi depended on a lengthy sea-river route with multiple handling stages, high costs and unreliable delivery times. The railway has reshaped the province's coal logistics by providing a direct, efficient north-to-south corridor.

Since the start of this year, the railway has expanded its "total-to-total" marketing and destination-side outreach, with cooperation covering 57 power plants and adding 910,000 tonnes of shipments, up 8.1% year on year. Integrated logistics projects cumulatively shipped 270,000 tonnes of coal to power plants in Guangxi and Jiangxi.

To offset fluctuations in thermal power demand, the railway has shifted "non-thermal coal" to supplement "thermal coal", launching nine such projects with cumulative shipments of 1.58 million tonnes, up 980,000 tonnes or 98% year on year. Shipments of bulk non-coal cargo including grain, fertilizer and chemical products reached 810,000 tonnes, up 710,000 tonnes or 748.6% year on year.

Through end-July, the Haoji railway achieved freight volume of 40.10 million tonnes, up 4.58 million tonnes or 12.9% year on year. Average daily loading hit 2,776 cars in January-July, up 315 cars or 12.8% year on year, with May setting a single-month record of over 3,000 cars per day.
