China's state planner sets up coordination mechanism for major 'six networks' projects

China's National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) held a coordination meeting on Aug 19, 2026 to establish a joint mechanism for major projects under the "six networks" initiative, covering computing power networks, new-type power grids and next-generation communication networks. The mechanism, structured as "2+3+N" — two grid operators, three telecom carriers and N computing-related firms — aims to strengthen coordination and accelerate construction of key projects, according to a statement on the NDRC website.
