China's national carbon market traded 531,173 tonnes of carbon emission allowances on Aug 19, with a total turnover of 51.75 million yuan ($7.69 million), according to data from the Shanghai Environment and Energy Exchange. The benchmark carbon price closed at 97.40 yuan/t, down 0.01% from the previous trading day, after opening at 97.60 yuan/t and trading in a range of 97.30-97.60 yuan/t. Listed contract trading volume reached 231,173 tonnes with a turnover of 22.52 million yuan, while bulk contract trading volume stood at 300,000 tonnes with a turnover of 29.24 million yuan. No one-way bidding transactions were conducted.
