Hubei province's electricity consumption stood at 33.51 TWh in July 2026, down 5.79% year on year, according to data released by the Hubei Provincial Development and Reform Commission.

By sector, primary industry consumption fell by 10.92% year on year to 549 GWh, while secondary industry use edged up 0.18% to 16.79 TWh. Tertiary sector consumption declined 1.69% to 7.83 TWh, and residential use dropped 18.46% to 8.34 TWh.

Power generation in the province totaled 26.20 TWh in July, excluding the Three Gorges hydropower station, down 11.68% year on year.

Hydropower output rose 2.86% from a year ago to 4.41 TWh last month, while thermal generation fell 17.21% to 14.53 TWh. Wind power increased 10.78% to 1.87 TWh, and solar output declined 12.76% to 5.34 TWh. Independent new-type energy storage contributed 54 GWh, up 30 GWh from a year earlier.
