China's 10 largest coal mining groups (in terms of production) produced 1.33 billion tonnes of raw coal in January-July 2026, down 4.99% year on year, according to the latest data released by China National Coal Association.

The output of the top 10 coal producers represented 49.3% of China's total coal output, which stood at 2.7 billion tonnes for the first seven months, a 2.9% decline year on year, according to the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS).

Coal miners across China produced 343.21 million tonnes of raw coal (above-designated enterprises) in July, down 10.1% on the year, NBS data showed. Daily coal output was at 11.07 million tonnes on average.

Meanwhile, Chinese customs data showed the country's coal imports rose 4.3% from the year prior to 268 million tonnes over the first seven months.
