Bangladesh's government has announced plans to meet 75% of the coal import requirements of its local thermal power plants through domestic resources, according to foreign media reports. The energy ministry said the move would simultaneously ease gas pressure for power generation, save significant foreign exchange and reduce reliance on imported coal.
