China Energy Investment Corporation's Guoshen unit produced 30.21 million tonnes of commercial coal as of July 28, 65,500 tonnes above the scheduled pace, Xinhua News Agency reported on August 4.
Coal sales also exceeded 30 million tonnes, reaching 30.25 million tonnes as of July 28, 104,200 tonnes ahead of plan, data showed.
The company has fulfilled supply guarantee tasks during Chinese New Year and the "Two Sessions". In response to fuel structure changes at power plants in Shanxi's Hequ county, Guoshen launched emergency procurement of 200,000 tonnes of high-CV coal and expedited approvals to ensure stable operations.
It coordinated with State Grid Hami Coal and Energy and State Grid Ningxia Electric Power to add 1.1 million tonnes of coal contracts outside Xinjiang, offsetting shortfalls from external customers.
The company also strengthened railway capacity coordination and activated self-provided railcars to sustain growing outbound shipments from Xinjiang.
Guoshen broke from CHN Energy's integrated sales model by developing local sales channels for large-sized lump coal, completing 19,400 tonnes at Sandaogou mine in Shaanxi's Yulin at prices above 700 yuan/t, generating direct economic benefits of 13.39 million yuan ($1.98 million).
