China unveils 15th "Five-Year Plan" for geological disaster prevention

China's Ministry of Natural Resources has released a plan outlining key tasks for geological disaster prevention during the 15th "Five-Year Plan" period, as over 270,000 registered geological hazard sites threaten the safety of more than 11 million people nationwide as of end-2025. The plan, which focuses on enhancing climate change risk response capacity, deploys seven key projects including dynamic surveys of hazard sites and risk zones, and designates 21 priority prevention areas.
