China's top economic planner and energy regulator have issued a plan for building a new power system during the 15th "Five-Year Plan" period, targeting initial completion by 2030. The plan aims for non-fossil energy to account for 50% of total power generation, with a green and low-carbon power supply structure basically taking shape. It also targets a new power grid that is safe, reliable, green, low-carbon, resilient and intelligent, with total installed capacity reaching 2.8 billion kW.
