Urumqi railway bureau coal shipments rise 4.9% YoY in 2025

China's Urumqi railway bureau transported 87.28 million tonnes of coal in the year to July 22, up 4.9% year on year, with outbound shipments from Xinjiang reaching 56.06 million tonnes, up 9.41%, according to the People's Railway newspaper. Since the start of summer, the bureau has shipped 33.76 million tonnes of coal, up 3.96% year on year, including 21.90 million tonnes out of Xinjiang, up 7.84%, supplying power grids across multiple regions with clean and efficient energy.
