Data from the Shanghai Environment and Energy Exchange showed that on July 31, the national carbon market opened at 97.50 yuan/t, hit a high of 99.50 yuan/t and a low of 97.50 yuan/t, before closing at 98.59 yuan/t, up 2.05% from the previous trading day. Listed contract trading volume reached 365,987 tonnes with a turnover of 36.08 million yuan ($5.34 million), while bulk contract trading volume stood at 885,819 tonnes with a turnover of 73.69 million yuan ($10.91 million), with no one-way bidding conducted. Total trading volume of national carbon emission allowances reached 1,251,806 tonnes, with total turnover of 109.77 million yuan ($16.26 million).
