NDRC vows deeper push to build unified national market, curb 'involution-style' competition

China's state planner will accelerate efforts to build a unified national market, targeting bottlenecks in goods and services circulation while cracking down on "involution-style" competition, a senior official said on July 31.Jiang Yi, director of the policy research office and spokesman for the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC), told a press conference that the construction of a unified national market is both a tough battle and a long-term endeavor, with progress made but deeper problems emerging.The NDRC will introduce a package of measures combining "one regulation, three lists and three systems" to define the boundaries of government economic promotion activities, Jiang said, adding that it will also use capacity controls, pricing enforcement and quality supervision to address disorderly low-price competition.
