India's power sector coal imports totaled 4.69 million tonnes in June 2026, down 7.89% year on year but up 14.96% month on month, according to the latest data from the Central Electricity Authority (CEA). Of the total, 4.02 million tonnes were supplied to plants using imported coal exclusively for power generation, while 666,400 tonnes were used for blending with domestic coal.
