U.S. crude steel production was estimated at 1.83 Mst (1.66 Mt) in the week ending Jul 18, 2026, up 3.3% YoY but down 0.5% WoW, according to data from the American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI). The capacity utilization rate was measured at 79.3%, expanding 1.1 pps YoY yet shrinking 0.4 pp WoW. The country's year-to-date crude steel output totaled 51.782 Mst, up 5.8% YoY, while the capacity utilization rate expanded by 1.8 pps to 78.8%.
