Thermal coal prices in Ordos showed mixed trends. While the top coal miner lowered purchasing prices for third-party coal and portside prices continued to fall, some mines still struggled with sales and faced ongoing price declines. However, as more mines approached annual production targets and cut or stopped production, producers became more reluctant to lower prices. A slight uptick in procurement from downstream clients and long-distance customers led to an increase in shipments for certain grades, with prices rising by 5-10 yuan/t.
