China's coking coal auction market had 219 Kt (mainly primary coking coal and fat coal) listed on Dec 17, and the unsold rate remained low at 3% despite a 3 pps expansion DoD. The average closing premium for all sold lots was 39.82 yuan/t. Auction failures notably reduced, thanks to increased appetite from some low-stocked coking plants and certain coal supply constraints near year-end. With sentiment marginally picking up, some sold lots saw increases of 3-45 yuan/t in settlements compared to previous levels. Yet high-priced cargoes continued to see decreases of 15-55 yuan/t.
