Russia's coal exports to China dropped 4% over the first nine months of 2025, TASS reported, citing Deputy Energy Minister Dmitry Islamov.

The decrease was amid the overall dip in Chinese coal imports by 11% during the period, the minister noted, adding that Russia is striving to boost coal supplies to China, India, and other countries of the Asia-Pacific Region in the first instance.

The country plans to keep coal exports to China at about 100 Mt in 2025, Islamov said earlier in a TASS interview.

Its seaborne coal exports to the Chinese mainland in January-November this year amounted to 54.98 million tonnes, narrowing 7.54% from the preceding year, according to vessel tracking data from Kpler.
