China's NDRC approved a new regulation on Dec 23 to enhance coal mining area management, effective on Feb 1, 2025. Areas with over 10 Mtpa production capacity must have their comprehensive mining plans first reviewed by provincial coal mining authorities before being submitted to the NDRC for final approval, the new regulation said.
