China's installed power capacity increased 14.4% on the year to 3.23 TW by the end of November, according to data from the National Energy Administration released on December 20.

Among this, solar power capacity surged 46.7% on the year to 820 GW, while wind power capacity rose 19.2% on the year to 490 GW.

China's major enterprises invested 866.5 billion yuan ($118.72 billion) in power generation projects and 529 billion yuan in grid projects, up 12% and 18.7% year on year, respectively, the administration announced.

In January-November, China's power consumption increased 7.1% compared to the same period last year. Power consumption in the primary sector, secondary sector and tertiary sector rose 6.8%, 5.3% and 10.4% from the preceding year, respectively.

In the first eleven months, consumption from the residential sector saw a strong year-on-year growth of 11.6%, it showed.
