Mongolia Nov coal output down 1.2% MoM; iron ore falls 2.1%

Mongolia's coal production reached 8.83 million tonnes in November 2024, rising 5.62% year on year yet declining 1.21% month on month, showed data from the National Statistical Office of Mongolia.

The country produced a total 89.93 million tonnes of coal over the first 11 months this year, up 23.46% from the preceding year.

Mongolia's iron ore production was 1.05 million tonnes in November, surging 92.90% on the year but falling 2.06% on the month.

This included 759,700 tonnes of iron sand, hiking 98.36% year on year and 5.08% from the previous month, and 294,700 tonnes of iron concentrate, climbing 80.13% from a year ago but falling 16.66% month on month.

Production of iron ore in Mongolia totaled 9.36 million tonnes over January-November, up 29.78% year on year. Iron sand output was 6.11 million tonnes, 22.18% higher than the year-ago level, and iron concentrate production advanced 46.93% to 3.25 million tonnes.
