An accident in a coal mine in N China's Shanxi province left three people dead, state broadcaster CCTV reported on Dec 14. The accident occurred at No.1 Shaqu Coal Mine, which belongs to Huajin Coking Coal Company under the control of Shanxi Coking Coal Group, and is allowed to produce 4.5 Mt of coal per year, and mainly for coking coal, lean coal and fat coal. After the accident, the company has determined to halt operations of its ten mines in Luliang, with combined capacity at 18 Mtpa, sources disclosed.
