China has put into use the intelligent fully-mechanized coal mining equipment with mining height of 10-m at Caojiatan coal mine in Yulin, Shaanxi province, CCTV reported.

The super-large big coal cutting machine, which is independently researched and developed by China, is installed at 280-m work face underground the mine and can cut 3,500 tonnes of coal in 40 minutes.

It is reported to have multiple functions like online monitoring, remote control and memorized coal cutting and automatic frame movement, which can help effectively reduce solid waste discharge while significantly improving production capacity.

Because of the advanced mining equipment, the annual production of the work face will be increased from the current 13 million tonnes to more than 20 million tonnes, and the recovery rate of coal resources will be raised by over 10%, said Lei Yajun, secretary of the Party Committee of Caojiatan Mining Co., Ltd. affiliated to Shaanxi Coal and Chemical Industry Group.

In the meantime, the caloric value of coal produced will be lifted by 300 Kcal/kg NAR, and the emissions of solid waste including coal gangue will be decreased by nearly 1 million tonnes, he added.
