Coal inventory at 45 power plants with direct supply through railways within the coverage area of China Railway Beijing Group stood at 7.77 million tonnes as of December 9 this year, rising 32% or 1.88 million tonnes from a year ago, local media reported.

During the same period, the group loaded a total 5,179 wagons of power coal, accounting for 71.1% of the total volume.

The Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region has experienced a significant drop in temperature recently, resulting in increased coal consumption by heating and power companies.

To address the urgent demand for coal storage, heating, and power generation in multiple power plants in the region, China Railway Beijing Group has actively coordinated with relevant departments to ensure the coal supply.

The group has also strengthened daily communication with power plants to monitor coal inventory, daily consumption, and arrival and unloading status, ensuring the stockpiles at plants cover above 20 days of usage.

Tianjin Freight Center of China Railway Beijing Group has established connections with 13 power utilities within its jurisdiction, assisting coal suppliers in developing reasonable transportation plans. Since the start of December, the center has handled a total 13,316 power coal wagons, amounting to 892,000 tonnes.
