Colombia exported 4.87 million tonnes of coal in October this year, up 10.7% on the year but down 1.47% month on month, according to the National Administrative Department of Statistics.

Comparatively, coal exports in October 2022 were 4.40 million tonnes, while the export volume for September this year was 4.94 million tonnes.

Total coal exports in the month amounted to $617 million, down 36.89% year on year and 6.17% on the month, data showed.

The average coal export price was calculated at $126.69/t, indicating a decline of 42.99% compared to the previous year and 4.77% from the previous month.

During January-October 2023, Colombia's coal exports totaled 46.48 million tonnes, decreasing 8.02% from 50.53 million tonnes a year earlier. The export value reached $7.58 billion, 24.79% lower than the preceding year, data showed.
