China Risun's Indonesian subsidiary starts coke export

PT Risun Wei Shan Indonesia, invested by China's largest independent coke producer China Risun Group, has obtained export license from government authorities and started to supply premium coke to the world, the company said on its website on November 24.

The inaugural shipment, consisting 20,000 tonnes of coke from PT Risun Weishan, began loading at Labota port on November 27. In a strategic collaboration with partner Trafigura Beheer, this shipment is earmarked for Tata Steel Ltd., one of India's major steel mills.

This successful export marks the kickoff of shipments from the 4.8-million-tonne coke production project at PT Risun Wei Shan Indonesia.

Following this milestone, vessels from clients in Turkey, Australia, India, Vietnam, Malaysia, and other countries are expected to arrive at Labota port for loading, the comany said. PT Risun Wei Shan's coke products are slated for delivery to steel mills, alloy plants, metal factories, chemical plants, and various end-users globally.

PT Risun Wei Shan Indonesia, the first overseas manufacturing park established by Risun Group in response to the Chinese government's Belt and Road Initiative, has already commissioned two coke ovens each with an annual production capacity of 1.6 million tonnes.

The remaining coke ovens are expected to gradually start production with the continuous support and expectations of both governments and local communities, it said.

Meanwhile, the submission for export permit quotas for the year 2024 has been initiated, ensuring the project's ability to provide consistent high-quality products and excellent services to customers worldwide, it added.
