Qinhuangdao Port closed on heavy fog

Qinhuangdao, the main coal transferring port in northern China, was closed on Jul 23 because of heavy fog, sources reported.

The Qinhuangdao Port closed its navigation starting from 3:30 pm in the wake of foggy weather, and the port came into operation at 3:20 pm the next day.

Coal stockpiled at the port reached 6.57 million tonnes on Jul 25, hitting the record high of this month.

There were 135 vessels waiting off the port as of Jul 25, as affected by the 24-hour closure of navigation.
