SDIC Jingtang coal stocks rise 5% by Jul 25

Coal stockpiled at SDIC Jingtang port rose to 1.52 million tonnes on Jul 25, with 13 vessels waiting off the berth, as affected by more than 30-hour closure of navigation on Dalian oil spill, reporters learned from Jingtang Port Authority.

The port had 1.47 million tonnes of coal in stock each day on average in the week ended Jul 25, rising 5% compared to a week earlier.

Rail coal transports at SDIC Jingtang port totaled 752,000 tonnes in Jul 19-25, an increase of 2.6% from a week ago.

But the port transported 105,000 tonnes of coal via railway each day on average in Jul 1-25, falling 8.7% from Jun, data show.

In addition, coal shipped through the port fell to 615,000 tonnes in the week ended Jul 25, averaging 88,000 tonnes per day, down 213,000 tonnes or 25.7% compared to the previous week.
