Prices of coal delivered to power plants located in eastern China kept rising for the fifty day last week, sources reported.
Thermal coal delivered from Shanxi Datong to power plants like Shidongkou No. 2, Huaneng Nantong and Taicang witnessed a rise of 10-20 yuan/t during the previous week, data show.
Price of thermal coal delivered to those power plants with calorific value of 5000 Kcal/kg went up to 720 yuan/t as of Nov 8, a rise of 20 yuan/t or 2.86% from the previous week, while thermal coal with calorific value of 5500 Kcal/kg rose 10 yuan/t on week to 810 yuan/t.
Meanwhile, thermal coal delivered from Inner Mongolia, China’s major coal producer, to Xiagang and Yangzhou No. 2 power plants witnessed a lower pace of rise trend in the week to Nov 8.
Thermal coal transported from Inner Mongolia to the two plants above with a heating value of 5000 Kcal/kg advanced to 725 yuan/t last week, while thermal coal with calorific value of 5500 Kcal/kg was 815 yuan/t, up 2.84% and 1.24% from a week earlier, respectively.
