Spot thermal coal price in China is expected to keep stable during the summer as hydropower generation increased and power plants hold sufficient coal stocks, predicted by China Coal Transportation and Distribution Association.

Coal stockpiled at Qinhuangdao port, the benchmark for Chinese market, rose to 6.46 million tonnes in the week ended Jul 26, up by 10 percent from a week earlier.

And coal supply remains abundant by Jul 20 as the power plants have started their pre-summer buying earlier this year.

However, the coal mine accidents occurred recently is likely to reduce their supply of coal in the future.
